The Soprano ICE uses 810nm diode technology combined with an SHR (Super Hair Removal) motion technique. Rather than delivering individual high-energy pulses, it gradually builds heat in the hair follicle through continuous motion. A note on packages
We offer packages for patients who want to pre-book multiple sessions at a slightly reduced rate — but we never push this. Many patients prefer paying session by session, and that works equally well. What we will not do is sell you a 15-session package when your hair type only needs 6.
How many sessions do you actually need?
This is the question we hear most often, and it deserves a straight answer. Hair grows in cycles — at any given moment, only the follicles in the active growth phase can be targeted by laser. This is why multiple sessions are necessary regardless of which system you use.
For most people, 6 to 8 sessions is enough to achieve 80–90% permanent reduction. Sessions are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for the face and 6 to 8 weeks for the body. After completing your course, the results are largely permanent — though people with PCOS or other hormonal conditions may need an occasional top-up once every 12 to 18 months.

We look at your skin tone, hair type, the area you want treated, and any relevant history — hormonal conditions, medications, recent sun exposure. This shapes how we approach your treatment and takes about 10 minutes.

Patch test — always, without exception
We treat a small test area first and check your skin's response before proceeding. This step is never skipped regardless of how straightforward your skin type looks. Safety first, always.

Treatment session
The Soprano ICE handpiece glides over the treatment area in a continuous motion. Most patients find it comfortable — significantly less painful than threading or waxing. A full face session takes around 20–25 minutes. Underarms take about 10 minutes.

Aftercare — simple and clear
We apply a soothing gel after treatment and give you written aftercare instructions. Avoid direct sun for 48 hours, no heat treatments for 24 hours, use SPF 30+ daily. That is genuinely everything.

How many sessions will I need?▾
Most patients need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart depending on the treatment area. We will not tell you that you need 20 sessions to sell you a larger package — that is simply not how Monaris works.
Will I need laser for the rest of my life?▾
No. After completing a proper course, most patients see 80–90% permanent reduction. People with PCOS or other hormonal conditions may benefit from a maintenance session every 12–18 months — but the idea that laser hair removal is a never-ending commitment is simply untrue for the vast majority of patients.
Can laser hair removal cause cancer?▾
No. This is one of the most common concerns we hear, and it is completely understandable. Laser hair removal uses non-ionising light energy — it is fundamentally different from X-rays or UV radiation which are associated with cancer risk. The Soprano ICE is FDA-cleared and has been used in millions of treatments globally with no evidence of cancer risk. Does it hurt?▾
The Soprano ICE's SHR motion technique makes it significantly more comfortable than older laser systems or IPL. Most patients describe it as a warm gliding sensation. Sensitive areas like the upper lip feel more intense, but most patients find it considerably more bearable than waxing or threading. We can apply numbing cream for particularly sensitive areas.
Is it safe for Indian skin?▾
Yes — with the right technology and the right doctor. Darker skin tones carry a higher risk of hyperpigmentation with older laser systems. What are the side effects?▾
Common temporary side effects include mild redness and slight swelling which typically resolves within a few hours. Temporary skin darkening or lightening can occur if sun protection advice is not followed. Serious side effects like scarring are rare and almost always the result of incorrect settings or inadequate skin assessment — which is why having a qualified MD dermatologist perform the treatment matters enormously.
I have PCOS — will laser still work for me?▾
Yes, though we will be honest about expectations. PCOS causes ongoing hormonal stimulation of hair follicles, which means new hair can continue growing even after treatment reduces existing hair significantly. Most of our PCOS patients achieve excellent results and dramatic reduction in daily maintenance — but may need occasional top-up sessions. We discuss this openly at your first consultation so there are no surprises.
Is laser hair removal suitable for men?▾
Absolutely. We treat men regularly for back, chest, shoulders, arms, legs, and earlobes. Several of our cricketer patients opted for laser hair removal precisely because their training and travel schedule made regular grooming impractical. After completing treatment, there is simply nothing to maintain.
Why does Monaris not push packages or follow-up calls?▾
